Wedding | Brit & Mike

Brit and Mike met at The Happiest Place on Earth. And for them, it pretty much lived up to its name. They ran in the same circles. They worked the same job at the same park. But they hadn't really spoken to each other until one day, Mike asked Brit that fateful question: "Do you know the difference between a black and a white rhino?"

This was no ordinary conversation starter. It was an educational conversation starter. And if there's one thing they both liked, it was being educational. As it turns out they mutually liked more than that one thing and soon they were inseparable. By the way, the answer is not the color -- it's the shape of their lips. Now this post is educational too.

So since it was animals (including a rather famous mouse) who brought them together, it was only fitting that their wedding be near them too. After a crazy day of monster traffic and rain that sent temperatures plummeting, the dolphins they exchanged their vows in front of provided a soothing background. Honestly though, I don't think either of them noticed the dolphins until the reception. They had each other and that was all the calm they needed.

With the way their day was planned, a first look was the best opportunity to get photos of Brit & Mike outside. It also served as an opportunity for them to feel a little more relaxed and get more excited at the same time.

I heard a couple of people at the reception comment that Brit looked like Snow White. They hadn't even seen what she was doing in these next photos. All that was missing was a little bird to land on her finger and sing with her.

These photos are just a few of my favorites from the wedding and the one on the right below is one of my ultimate favorites. The emotion was building up on his face and the way he held her hand... :) 

Brit & Mike, thank you for letting me capture your wedding in photos. It was full of sweet simplicity that let your love shine in the spotlight. You may not have followed many traditions, but you set your own standards and made your celebration truly belong to both of you.

Thanks also goes to Tina for her second shooting assistance. Did I mention I was also in this wedding? At least one friend questioned my sanity. I cannot blame her. In fact, I appreciate it. Ultimately it was an extended believe in yourself moment. And when you believe in yourself, you can get some pretty pretty results.
